A great family event which promotes:

. positive youth effort through school competition

The Ship Inn's Charity Fun Run is a great family event and has raised over $270,000 since 1989 in support of various charities. We.ve also provided much needed supplies and equipment to the school who signs up the most runners.

For the last couple of years we've been proud to support Auntie Olga's Needy Children's Fund which has been in existence for some 42 years and has helped thousands of families.

Every family that is given help has been seen by her personally. After investigating and ascertaining the worthiness of an appeal, practical help is given by way of food vouchers, school uniforms, shoes, textbooks and other items. Auntie Olga is very hands on and doesn't just give handouts - she follows through on the progress of the people she helps, saying, "I am not pouring water in a basket. I require a report on good behaviour and regular attendance."

At Christmas there is a Christmas Party for the children, their mothers and a number of poor senior citizens on the Harbour Master. All of the children are outfitted and each child is given a toy in keeping with his/her age and sex.

Throughout the year, food vouchers are issued and other help required (spectacles, doctor checkups and other assistance) is given.

The Fun Run is seeking to partner with your organisation to make this event even more successful than previous years, and we are offering you the opportunity to provide your kind and generous assistance in any or all of the following areas to support this very worthy cause:

• . Sponsorship of T-shirts - We are expecting approximately 3000 people to take part in the event and we.d like your support to sponsor t-shirts for some of the participants and/or your own corporate team. Your logo will be placed on the back of each shirt that you sponsor. The cost per shirt is approximately $12. Sponsors will be billed directly from the t-shirt supplier.
• Auction Prizes - There will be an auction held after the Fun Run to raise additional funds for Auntie Olga.s Needy Children.s Fund. We are seeking donations of high-end items which may be auctioned to the public.
• School Prize - the school which signs up the most students receives a prize, so we're looking for a package of Sports Equipment, School supplies and other school-related items. While direct contributions of the above-mentioned items are welcome, gift certificates are preferred so that the winning school may choose which item(s) it needs most. Funds towards this winning school.s prize package are also welcome.
• Participant prizes - The motto of The Fun Run is "Everyone's a Winner!" and we're seeking to provide everyone who registers (an expected 3000 persons or more) with a prize. That means we.re seeking 3000 prizes for our participants! Donations of your company.s promotional items such as mugs, t-shirts, pens, vouchers, or other appropriate items are welcomed and encouraged as prizes
• Newspaper Ads - We are also looking for sponsorship of newspaper ads to publicise the event. Your company's logo and slogan will appear in the ad.
• Children's Fun Area . We are seeking funding for this area at the end of the run with clowns, face-painting, games, and other fun activities. Toys, games, balloons, decorating services, and any other kids activities may also be donated.
